Hand to Hold's Official Blog: Written by Parents for Parents

hello all!

Noah, born 3 months early is now 9 months old.

Hello! My name is Ashley Berreth, mother of 27 weeker Noah, and it is my honor to say I will be the next caretaker of this incredible website. For two years Afton Mower has done an awesome job spreading awareness and lifting heavy hearts. Although no one can take her place. I promise to do my best to inform all of you incredible parents out there about all of the pressing preemie concerns, along with plenty of stories to raise your hopes and keep you forging ahead.

I have two years of html experience, an associates of science degree and have taken two years of nursing. Preemie research is a huge deal to me, I look up everything and anything about these little miracles to discover the best ways to help them through. Having a preemie in the NICU and even a year later is an incredibly stressful time, my goal is to support you through it all.

I’m trying my best to get everything figured out so I can start working on this wonderful website full-time, and I would love to meet all of you! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I’ve lived through it as well, and wish I would’ve known then what I do now. Just know there’s always hope, and love is the strongest force we have.

I cant wait to meet everyone and start a new chapter.

  1. Well it’s very nice to meet you Ashley. I love the resources that this website provides to parents and kiddos. And I’m sure you’ll do great at adding those resources!! I’m excited to see where you take this website.

  2. Hi my name is Jennifer and I’m a mom of a 7 year old boy who was a preemie. I found this blog through Facebook and I added you to my blog. I look forward to reading your posts!

  3. Hi there, I’m going through this all now. My daughter was born at 29 weeks and has been in the NICU for 26 days and counting. I find it so hard to watch her have to go through all of this. I feel so helpless and guilty. I wish there was more I could do.

    • Jaclyn,
Im so happy you found our site and I hope it aids you in your troubled times. I also had HELLP syndrome and my son was born at 27 weeks gestation. It’s hard, but us mommas are strong! I used to be extremely jealous of my friends and their full term pregnancies, now Noah is nine months old and that jealousy is starting to fade although the guilt still creeps up sometimes. Just know it does get better, and we’re here to support you along the way!

    • Hi Jaclyn,
I had 29 week premmie twins… hang in there! What you’re going throug is not easy & my heart goes out to you knowing the roller coaster ride you’re on.
I hope you have a good support network and the best thing you can give your little girl is love. She know’s when you’re beside her and she senses your emotions so pass on as much positivity as you can.
Take care of yourself too. Sleep when you need to and get yourself strong.
      All the best!
