Hand to Hold's Official Blog: Written by Parents for Parents

Kelli Kelley & NICU Now Podcast Nominated for WEGO Health Award

When Hand to Hold founder Kelli Kelley had her lightbulb moment to produce a podcast just for NICU parents, she knew she had to make it happen. A huge podcast fan herself, Kelli could already see what a valuable resource this podcast would be for parents currently in the NICU, those fresh home from the hospital, and even those who have put years between themselves and their NICU stay.

Since the release of NICU Now’s initial 15 episodes in February 2017, over 11,ooo people have downloaded the podcast in 38 countries. Parents around the world have benefited from this amazing resource, and now Hand to Hold’s hard work is paying off with a nomination for the WEGO Health Awards, in the category of Best in Show: Podcast.

WEGO Health is a mission-driven company that seeks to harness the experiences and insight of patient leaders, those who serve as advocates for healthcare due to their unique experiences. The WEGO Health Awards celebrate the top patient leaders who are making a difference in the lives of patients and caregivers.

Hand to Hold is honored to be nominated in this category. Creating the NICU Now podcast has allowed us to put our resources and support into the hands (and ears!) of parents when they need it most. Parents listen at baby’s bedside, in the car to and from the hospital, in the pumping room, and more, and come away with valuable information and support, and the realization they are not alone in this journey.

How can you help?
