Today I am thankful that my little one is a fighter and was able to fight through the NICU to be home with us now. She is the best blessing my husband and I could have asked for and we count ourselves lucky to go home each night to a healthy baby. Even when everything else is going wrong, she can make us smile :)

I am thankful that I didn’t listen to my OB and that we chose to get a second opinion. After my premature rupture at 17 weeks, we didn’t lose hope. I stayed on bedrest and went into the hospital at 24 weeks and stayed there until our son arrived at 28 weeks 6 days gestation! He spent 112 days in the NICU and is now 14 months old actual/11 months adjusted! We have ourselves a miracle and if it weren’t for us believing in him, our new doctors, and all the prayers….he wouldn’t be where he is today!

Today I’m grateful for life. It is such a precious thing and so many people take it for granted.

I am thankful that I found my way back to God. I would have never known the blessings or recognized the gift of life that I know today if I had stayed on the same path I was on.

Casey is now 6.5 months (4,5 adjusted) Some days our time in the nicu feels like yesterday and other times a lifetime ago. He is doing great. The joy he brings is amazing. He is our miracle baby after years of infertility.
